The Vigilant Engine Co. was established in 1928, and provides fire protection for the Hamlet of Copiague. Our company along with the Eagle Engine Co. and the Hook,Ladder and Rescue Co. make up the Copiague Fire Department, in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.   CAR FIRE AT BUNT COMMONS Tuesday, November 7, 2006 - The Vigilant Engine Company responded to a car fire at the Bunt Commons Condo Complex. The auto was crashed into a tree and the driver of the car fled the scene. He was later caught by Suffolk PD and it was determined that the car was stolen. Two police officers were transported to Good Sam Hospital with minor injuries. Mutual Aid was requested from the Amityville Fire Dept. for one Ambulance to the scene.
